ITPP (Myo-Inositol Trispyrophosphate) Research Reference at Chemyo

This is the Chemyo research reference for Myo-inositol Trispyrophosphate (ITPP): what the compound is, its molecular identity, the formats in stock and the published batch testing. ITPP is supplied for research use only; nothing on this page is dosing, administration or clinical guidance.

What is ITPP?

ITPP, myo-inositol trispyrophosphate, is a synthetic inositol derivative that acts as an allosteric effector of haemoglobin. It was described in 2005 in PNAS by a team including Nobel laureate Jean-Marie Lehn, who showed that it lowers haemoglobin’s oxygen affinity and so increases oxygen release from red blood cells to tissues.

Because low tissue oxygen (hypoxia) is a feature of many solid tumours, ITPP was studied in tumour models and entered an early clinical trial under the code OXY111A in patients with pancreatic and liver cancers. It is also on anti-doping lists because of its potential effect on oxygen delivery. Chemyo supplies the sodium salt as a research powder.

Where to buy ITPP for research

Searches for ITPP for sale turn up many listings with no batch data. At Chemyo every lot of ITPP below has its identity, purity results published, so you can check the material before you order it.

Quality control

Every batch is independently tested: FTIR for identity, HPLC for purity and, for solutions, a separate concentration assay. Reports are listed by batch number in the Chemyo lab reports library, and our quality control process explains each step. To check a certificate yourself, see how to read a SARM COA.

ITPP FAQ

What does ITPP stand for?

Myo-inositol trispyrophosphate, a synthetic, membrane-permeant derivative of inositol.

How does ITPP affect haemoglobin?

It binds haemoglobin allosterically and shifts the oxygen dissociation curve to the right, so oxygen is released more readily to tissues.

Has ITPP been studied in humans?

An early-phase oncology study (OXY111A) was run in pancreatic and liver cancer; it is not an approved medicine.

Which ITPP format does Chemyo stock?

ITPP sodium salt as a 1 g research powder with an identity and purity report for each lot.
