S-23 SARM Research Reference at Chemyo
This is the Chemyo research reference for S-23: what the compound is, its molecular identity, the formats in stock and the published batch testing. S-23 is supplied for research use only; nothing on this page is dosing, administration or clinical guidance.
What is S-23?
S-23 is a non-steroidal SARM from the same University of Tennessee and GTx research group that produced Andarine (S4) and Ostarine. It is one of the higher-affinity compounds in that family, binding the androgen receptor with sub-nanomolar affinity in the original pharmacology papers.
Most of the research interest stems from a 2009 rat study published in Endocrinology, which explored S-23 as a possible male hormonal contraceptive when combined with an oestrogen. No human trials have been published, so S-23 remains an early-stage pre-clinical compound used to study androgen receptor pharmacology.

Quality control
Every batch is independently tested: FTIR for identity, HPLC for purity and, for solutions, a separate concentration assay. Reports are listed by batch number in the Chemyo lab reports library, and our quality control process explains each step. To check a certificate yourself, see how to read a SARM COA.
S-23 FAQ
Is S-23 a peptide?
No. Despite the common search term “S23 peptide”, S-23 is a small non-steroidal molecule, not a peptide.
Who developed S-23?
It came from the University of Tennessee and GTx SARM programme that also produced Andarine (S4) and Ostarine (MK-2866).
What has S-23 been studied for?
Rat studies examined its androgenic and anabolic activity and its potential as part of a male hormonal contraceptive approach.
Which S-23 format does Chemyo stock?
A 20 mg/ml S-23 solution in 50 ml with batch FTIR, HPLC and concentration data.
