SR-9009 (Stenabolic) Research Reference at Chemyo

This is the Chemyo research reference for SR-9009 Stenabolic: what the compound is, its molecular identity, the formats in stock and the published batch testing. SR-9009 is supplied for research use only; nothing on this page is dosing, administration or clinical guidance.

What is SR-9009?

SR-9009, sold as Stenabolic, is a synthetic agonist of the nuclear receptors REV-ERBα and REV-ERBβ, which help regulate the circadian clock and the expression of metabolic genes. It was developed in Thomas Burris’s laboratory at Scripps Research, and a 2012 paper in Nature described its effects on circadian behaviour and metabolism in mice.

SR-9009 has poor oral bioavailability in published animal work, and a 2019 study reported that some of its cellular effects persist even when REV-ERB is absent, which complicates how earlier results are interpreted. It remains a pre-clinical tool compound with no human trials.

Quality control

Every batch is independently tested: FTIR for identity, HPLC for purity and, for solutions, a separate concentration assay. Reports are listed by batch number in the Chemyo lab reports library, and our quality control process explains each step. To check a certificate yourself, see how to read a SARM COA.

SR-9009 FAQ

What is the difference between SR-9009 and SR-9011?

Both are REV-ERB agonists from the same Scripps programme and were studied side by side. They differ in structure and pharmacokinetics; SR-9009 is the better known of the two.

Is SR-9009 a SARM?

No. It targets the REV-ERB nuclear receptors involved in circadian rhythm, not the androgen receptor.

Has SR-9009 been tested in humans?

No clinical trials have been published. All available data come from cell and animal studies.

Which SR-9009 formats are available?

Chemyo stocks a 10 mg/ml SR-9009 solution in 50 ml and a 1 g powder.
